Malwarebytes sells protection against the traps that AI makes more convincing. Premium Security, part of every paid plan, guards against phishing, ransomware and exploits, so a flawless fake bank email is less likely to end with malware on your laptop. Not ready to pay? The free Browser Guard extension blocks scam pages, ads and trackers, and the free Scam Guard lets you check a suspected scam or phone number. Plus adds a VPN and data breach alerts for three devices. The catch: the Ultimate discount covers only the first year, and the renewal is twice as much.

On the Standard (annual) plan, Malwarebytes costs $5 a month or $59.99 a year. A free version exists too. Ultimate (first year), the highest plan listed here, comes to $139.99 a year. Read on the provider’s pricing page on September 22, 2026; a monthly subscription can cost more than the yearly rate.

Is Malwarebytes Browser Guard free?
Yes. Browser Guard is a free browser extension that blocks scam and malicious web pages along with ads and trackers. Malwarebytes offers a few more free tools next to it: Scam Guard for checking a suspected scam or phone number, a digital footprint scanner, AdwCleaner and a virus scanner. None of them is a full antivirus subscription; for that you need Standard or higher.
Does Malwarebytes Ultimate cost more after the first year?
Yes. The Ultimate price on the pricing page is a 50% discount that applies to the first year, and the listed renewal is twice that amount. The page gives no end date for the offer. Standard and Plus showed no discount when we read the page, so their listed price is the regular yearly price.
Is Malwarebytes available in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe?
In the Netherlands, yes. Malwarebytes runs a Dutch pricing page with prices in euros and its own buy buttons, and the top plan is called Total there instead of Ultimate. That page does not say whether VAT is included. Oddly, the identity insurance in Total is still quoted in dollars on the Dutch page.
