NordVPN started out as a VPN, but its current plans add several checks aimed at the scams that AI makes more convincing. Every plan recognizes phishing and scam attempts and includes Dark Web Monitor, which tells you when your email address turns up in a data leak. Complete and Ultimate Max go further: anti-malware that blocks harmful websites, email scanning for phishing links, and call protection that flags likely scam calls before you answer. It suits someone who wants a VPN anyway and would like the scam checks in the same app. The catch: the introductory price covers 27 months, after which the plan renews yearly at a much higher rate, and Basic lacks the malware and email protection.

On the Basic (2-year plan, first term) plan, NordVPN costs €3.49 a month or €41.88 a year. Ultimate Max (2-year plan, first term), the highest plan listed here, comes to €101.88 a year. Does NordVPN protect against AI phishing and scam calls?
Partly. Every plan recognizes scam and phishing attempts. Call protection, which flags likely scam and spam calls before you pick up, comes only with Complete and Ultimate Max, as does email protection against harmful links. Message scanning for scam texts works on Android only. No app stops a convincing cloned voice, so agree on a family code word and call back on a number you already know.
Is NordVPN Threat Protection Pro still available?
Not under that name on the current pricing page. The comparable features are now listed one by one: anti-malware that blocks harmful websites, email protection, call protection and message protection. They come with Complete and Ultimate Max, not with Basic. Basic keeps the general scam and phishing protection and Dark Web Monitor for leaked email addresses.
Can NordVPN remove my personal data from the internet?
Yes, as a paid extra. NordVPN sells Incogni as an add-on to any plan; it asks data brokers to delete your personal details, which leaves scammers less to work with. Dark Web Monitor, included in every plan, only warns you when your email address appears in a leak. Dark Web Monitor Pro in Complete and Ultimate Max also watches phone, card and ID numbers.
