About Proton Pass
A convincing AI-written phishing mail only pays off for the scammer if the stolen password opens more than one door. Proton Pass keeps a separate password for every account, flags weak and reused ones, and supports passkeys, which a fake login page cannot capture. Hide-my-email aliases add a second layer: each shop or newsletter gets its own address, so a leaked customer list never shows your real inbox. Paid plans add dark web monitoring, a built-in 2FA authenticator and encrypted sharing. The free version covers unlimited logins and devices, enough for most households. The catch: it stops at 10 aliases, and paying Plus by the month costs clearly more than paying for a year.

Yes. Can Proton read my passwords?
No. Proton Pass uses zero-knowledge end-to-end encryption for everything in the vault, so logins, notes and cards are unreadable to Proton itself. Your account gets a separate layer on top of that: Proton Sentinel, which combines AI with human expertise to stop someone who already has your password from getting into the account.
How do email aliases help against AI phishing?
They keep your real address out of the customer lists that end up leaking. Proton Pass can create a fresh alias automatically whenever you sign up for a new account, so a breached shop only exposes that alias. When a polished scam mail later arrives on it, you also know exactly which company lost your address.
