What it does not do
- Works only on a computer in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and other Chromium browsers. Dashlane states that scam alerts are not available on desktop Safari or on mobile devices.
- Reads no text messages, WhatsApp or mail itself. It steps in once you open the link in your browser.
- Comes with no free version. Dashlane offers only a 14-day trial of Premium.
- Cloned voices and deepfakes
- Nothing about voice cloning or deepfakes on the pages read on 22 September 2026.
- What happens to what you send it
- Dashlane says the analysis of a web page happens entirely on your own device. No user data is used to train the AI model. If you report a site that was flagged wrongly, Dashlane does look at that site.

Dashlane is a password manager with an AI feature of its own against fake login pages. Scam Protection checks every site you open and warns you before you type anything in. It works on pages where you have nothing saved. Dashlane also stores your passwords and warns you when you fill a saved login on the wrong site. Dark Web Monitoring tells you when your details show up in a breach. Premium adds a VPN for public wifi. There is no free version. The pricing page offers only a 14-day trial of Premium. Amounts are shown per month on annual billing and exclude VAT. In Friends & Family only the plan manager gets the VPN.
